“Hypnosis is a powerful tool to overcome limiting beliefs and facilitate healing in the body. Because all learning, behavior, and change ultimately takes place at the unconscious level, it's imperative to learn how to make changes consciously in the unconscious mind.”

FAQ:

What exactly is Hypnotherapy? From: Hypnosis: A Comprehensive Guide, by Tad James, PhD

Most people believe that hypnosis isn’t real. They have seen movies, poor stage shows, or have seen a guy on TV walking around as if he has power over the people  on stage. This is so far from the truth of hypnosis, it’s not funny.  Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that everyone experiences every day, often more than once. Have you ever tried talking to someone who is watching TV and found it hard to get their attention? This is a naturally occurring trance state.

Here’s the legal definition: Hypnosis is the bypass of the critical faculty.  The accepting of selective thinking, thoughts, concepts and ideas that are OKAY by you and consistent with your values.  Altering a person’s belief or reality through suggestion.

What will Hypnosis feel like? Let me just show you! Close your eyes and breathe in. Now breathe out.  And again breathe in. Now breathe out and relax.  Relax the muscles around your eyes so they are so relaxed that you could not  possibly relax them any further.  Now relax them so much that they are too relaxed to open. Now, holding onto that relaxation, test them and make sure they stay shut. That’s hypnosis.

Will you be able to control me while in trance? No. You will be able to hear everything I say during the session and it is all simply a suggestion. It is up to you to follow directions, make changes in your life, and implement the suggestions. Think of it like a guided meditation!

Why do people do funny things on stage then? If you have ever been to a staged hypnosis show, you know that before they bring someone on stage, they take the audience through a series of tests and then ask for volunteers. They are not going to choose the person in the back who is still in their seat, avoiding eye contact. They are going to choose the person in the front row who followed instructions when asked to spin in a circle and is jumping up and down begging to be on stage. That is their person! They will bark like a dog and flap their arms like a chicken, because they would have done those things out of trance. You will not do anything in trance that you would not have done out of trance.

How much will I remember after coming out of trance? You will remember everything! Unless you fall asleep, but you will get the most benefits if you stay awake, so sleeping is not recommended during your session.

Is there an NDA/Confidentiality agreement? Always! This goes for my Massage and Hypnotherapy clients. As a licensed professional, by law I must follow all HIPAA protocols and cannot disclose anything we talk about to anyone, including health professionals, without your written consent.

Can anyone be hypnotized? Anyone who follows direction, uses their imagination, and is open to suggestion can be hypnotized. There are a select few who will not fall into this category, which is why we have a consultation before your session.
